Our team at Day One Society honours Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as a time to remember, reflect, and learn. This day reminds us of the children who were taken from their families and communities, and of the ongoing impacts of residential schools.
This year, our team will be wearing orange shirts to show support and solidarity. We continue to support our staff with Indigenous Cultural Awareness Training to strengthen relationships and better serve our community. We also are grateful for the guidance and resources shared through Ryan Deneault’s Healing Between Worlds newsletter, which highlights important local initiatives and opportunities for learning.

Day One Society stands alongside our community partners in recognizing this day, honouring Survivors, and committing to learning the truth and journeying on the pathway of reconciliation in meaningful ways.
On September 30, 2025 we encourage you to deepen your understanding by engaging in learning activities such as reading a chapter from a reconciliation-focused book, which can help us all to grow in awareness and knowledge.
