Kamloops, B.C. – Day One Society is excited to announce its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 26, 2023. Commencing at 6:45 pm, the event is set to take place in the Oak Room at the North Shore Community Centre, located at 730 Cottonwood Avenue.
For half a century, Day One Society has been a cornerstone of the community, providing services in Kamloops and surrounding area to support individuals struggling with substance use issues and help them in their journey toward recovery and wellness.
The agenda for this year’s AGM includes:
AGM Business: An overview of the Day One Society's accomplishments over the past year, financial reports, and a look at their vision for the future.
Recognition of Out of the Ashes Bursary Recipients: The Out of the Ashes Bursary provides educational support to youth (ages 17–29) or young adults (ages 30+) in Kamloops who have a minimum of one year recovery time. Day One Society will proudly recognize and celebrate the exceptional achievements of two outstanding recipients.
Creative Award: As a highlight of the evening, Day One Society will present a special award related to the “One Day at a Time” film premiered earlier this year.
"As we gather for our AGM, we are thrilled to welcome everyone and come together as a community to celebrate not only the achievements of the past year but also our remarkable journey of 50 years," said Sian Lewis, executive director of Day One Society. “It is only through our collective efforts that we can begin to address this issue, progressing in the right direction as more people develop compassion, understanding, and interest in what we do and the people we serve.”
