At Day One Society, the work carried out in the community is supported by many dedicated individuals. Among them is a committed Board of Directors whose leadership helps guide the organization’s mission, values, and long-term vision.
This year, Day One Society launched a new feature series recognizing the people who serve on its Board of Directors. While much of the Society’s impact is seen through its programs and services, the board plays an essential role behind the scenes; providing oversight, insight, and thoughtful governance to ensure the organization continues to move forward responsibly and with purpose.
Over the past few months, we have begun sharing profiles that introduce the individuals who help shape this work. In January, we featured Francesca Loehr, followed by Vice President Dr. Stan Fike in February, and most recently, Jeremy Gauthier in March. Each story offers a closer look at the perspectives, experiences, and dedication these leaders bring to Day One Society.
For Marilyn McLean, President of Day One Society, the series is both an introduction and an expression of appreciation.
“Highlighting the board members of the Day One Society gives the public an introduction to the talented, dynamic people who are committed to the vision and values of the Day One Society. This group of people, with their diverse skills and abilities, ensures that reasonable and responsible decisions are made. As the president, I am grateful for their hard work and very happy that others can now learn about the leaders of the Day One Society and be assured the Society is in good hands.”
Through this series, Day One Society hopes not only to introduce the people guiding the organization, but also to recognize the time, expertise, and dedication they generously contribute in service of the community.

What stands out is how governance often shapes outcomes indirectly, with influence that isn’t always visible in day-to-day operations. In the middle of that, Vegas Now Casino reflects how external framing can influence perception, even though real impact depends on consistency in decision-making over time.
